The Istrian Space Program, led by Marino Tumpić and his team, through the HISTRION 108 and 110 projects, sends probes into near space to gather data on temperature, pressure, radiation, and other conditions recorded during space missions. Besides technical measurements, these spacecraft also carried works of art, symbolically uniting two branches of human curiosity: science and art.

Ana carefully crafted each of her pieces, selecting themes that reflect philosophical and cosmic mysteries. Her paintings intertwine mythological and religious symbols: Mayan motifs, Vinča figures, and the outline of the White Angel from the Mileševa Monastery, which also served as a symbol of peace between continents and beyond, towards the cosmos. Through these images, Ana conveys a message of unity, love, and harmony with oneself and the universe.

Marino Tumpić sees art in space as a symbol of childlike curiosity and the drive to understand the universe, which is a fundamental impulse of human nature. He envisions that, in the future, works of art will adorn modules on the Moon or Mars, serving as eternal testaments to humanity’s quest for knowledge. These paintings in space showcase our dedication and reconciliation with the past, inviting coexistence and peace in the present and future.

The message of this project transcends the boundaries of art and science—it reminds us of the unity of all people and the need for understanding and peace.
